Tis’ the Season…for Sunset Vampires!
/I absolutely love the holidays! It’s my favorite time of the year. And, unlike some people, I count Halloween as the official start of the holiday season.
I had a marvelous Halloween turnout of trick-or-treaters at my house this year. I handed out over two-hundred full-sized candy bars, and I enjoyed the looks of surprise on treater’s faces when they took in the huge selection available in the giant bowl I held before them. I distinctly remember as a child that I dreamed of going to someone’s house who was handing out full-sized candy bars, which didn’t happen often at all. So, as an adult, I wanted to make that dream come true for others…and appreciate it vicariously through them.
Now it’s November, and I look forward to the upcoming Thanksgiving holiday. Because I’m such a foodie, it’s one of my favorite holidays. It’s actually slightly better than Christmas or Yule because there’s no gift buying to worry over. Just food and fellowship!
What’s your favorite holiday? Let me know in the comments below.
Finally, let’s talk about my Sunset Vampires.
As an author, I’ve always wanted to write a novel that focused on the holidays. While I have previously written about Katrina and Caleb sharing their first Christmas together in Sunrise at Sunset: Revamped, and while Sunset Rising presented an adventurous Thanksgiving, both instances were an abbreviated experience because of the threats they faced.
With Sunset Burning, I was able to focus nearly the entire novel on the Christmas and New Year’s holiday season. I have wanted to examine in detail the microcosm of what Kat and Caleb and their extended family and friends would experience together.
That’s why the novel may feel more holiday-romance and a bit less adventure-centered to the reader. For once, I focused the majority of the novel on the romance / relationship aspects of the characters, which felt more like a traditional romance novel. I hope you enjoy it.
Rest assured, the next book in the series (which I am already working on) will return to the faster adventure-based format that you may be accustomed to. Oh yes, there’s lots to look forward to following the ending of Sunset Burning…
One final announcement before I close. The trade paperback format of Sunset Burning is FINALLY AVAILABLE! Please CLICK HERE to order your paperback copy today.
I hope you have a wonderful beginning to your holiday season!
Best Wishes, Jaz
